In the past week, I haven’t been very good about exercising. Tsk tsk!! I’ve been busy and I’ve just put my workouts on the back burner. That’s okay, though… if I’ve learned one thing in my journey to fitness, I’ve learned that I can’t beat myself up too much over past missed workouts. What’s done is done, and I can’t change the past, but I CAN focus on today. Try to make every day a little better, and you’ll probably turn out okay! (What’s that old saying- aim for the moon, and even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars!)
Summer’s almost here, which (at least for some people) means a last-minute extreme body workout in an attempt to achieve a respectable beach body. Personally, I highly doubt I will be a twig by June
but I am quite happy with what I have achieved. In fact, my current swimsuit is one size too large- it still works, but if I lose much more weight, I’ll need to buy a new suit.
I really need to find another race, maybe a fall race, to get back to training. Even though, in hindsight, I can see errors, I’m really pleased with my training for the Rock the Parkway half marathon. For roughly four months, I was really sticking with a schedule and running frequently. It wasn’t quite as specific as some of the 90 day review programs out there, but I DID gain quite a bit of muscle mass!!
