Travel day

In spite of all I have accomplished today, it hasn’t felt that busy. Mom and I woke up early to swim. After that, we came home, showered, and packed. My dad was on a business trip but left this morning and got home around 2:30pm. Mom and I were basically just waiting for him, and [...]

painkillers

I’m pretty cautious about painkiller medicines.  I mean, if I have a headache or a severe muscle ache, I’m not afraid to take an ibuprofen.  But, the few times I’ve needed stronger medicines than that (like when I got my wisdom teeth out), I am super cautious.  I don’t ever want to need Vicodin rehab [...]

A uniquely embarrassing pain

Yesterday I fell down a half-flight of stairs. Luckily I didn’t fall head over heels, but I landed squarely on my bum, and proceeded to “bounce” down the stairs, on my romp each time.

I wasn’t badly hurt, but I’m about to tell you a few words I never imagined I would say:

MY BUTT IS SORE.

Yes, [...]

acne- how life can be unfair

Tomorrow is my 26th birthday, and I still haven’t outgrown the perils of adolescence.  Adult acne is, in my opinion, one of the cruel realities of life.  Luckily it has improved quite a bit since my adolescence, but it’s still a pain.
I can keep it under control if I religiously use certain over the counter [...]

the accident, part six

Part One
Part Two
Part Three
Part Four
Part Five
Part Seven
After the hospital ended, the rehab began.  I don’t remember the first few weeks of rehab very well.  It’s a funny side effect of the brain injury- I only vaguely remember the months before the accident, and the weeks after the accident are even more vague.  It’s called partial [...]

bronchitis

I’m feeling a little better, but still coughing and hacking quite a bit.  However, instead of giving you the detailed (and disgusting!) descriptions of my illness, I decided to write out a memory of another time when I was ill. (I don’t want to lose readers from the “colors of my sputum” series!)
Anyway.  I believe [...]

websites can be such a pain

It’s me.  I’m back.  I have not fallen off of the face of the earth… though I’m sure it feels like I did.
I updated my website a week ago, from wordpress 2.6.3 to 2.6.5.  Something in that process affected something on my website… and this is where my ignorance of scripting will become very evident.  [...]

i hate playing catch-up

Yet here I am.  Playing catch-up.

When I got home from work on Friday, my feedreader listed over ten thousand unread posts.  And I was just like… no way.  So I neglected this blog, only posting when absolutely necessary, for the whole weekend.  Now I have a LOT of work to do – catching up on [...]

background checks and Redbox

I had to fill out a ton of questionnaire information online today for this substitute-teaching position I am applying for.  It was a pain.  I mean, I understand why they need the information but still… WHAT A NUISANCE!
Tomorrow I have to go to the district to get fingerprinted, so that they can run a background [...]
