boston/canada update

I promise I’m not trying to ignore you.  It’s just VACATION!!!
Two days ago we went to the MIT museum, which was neat but I wasn’t THAT impressed.  It wasn’t put together too well.  Then we drove to Rutland, Vermont where we spent the night.
Yesterday we drove from Rutland to Ticonderoga, NY, where we visited Fort [...]

more weird instant messages

One “side effect” of the time I spent in Africa is a moderately annoying “proposal problem”.  See, to Africans (African men in particular), my white American skin equals a green card.  The vast majority of Africans just really desire to live in the United States, but immigration is much more challenging since 9/11.  The easiest [...]

driving to nebraska

I took oodles of photos from the car while we were driving to Nebraska.  Many of them turned out blurry (no surprise, since I took these from a moving car) but a lot of them turned out surprisingly good.  In fact, I’m using one of them as the wallpaper on my cell phone.
Also, an apology: [...]

Family lunch

Written at 2pm, Saturday June 6.
Hello blog. I don’t know if this will go through, because I’ve discovered the cell service is pretty flukey around Funk amd Wilcox. Luckily our hotel is in Minden, and I can get a pretty reliable EDGE signal there. So it WILL get sent eventually.
I hope my cell phone battery [...]

Travel day

In spite of all I have accomplished today, it hasn’t felt that busy. Mom and I woke up early to swim. After that, we came home, showered, and packed. My dad was on a business trip but left this morning and got home around 2:30pm. Mom and I were basically just waiting for him, and [...]

What a day!

What a busy day- productive though! Wrote a whole bunch of ads, created a powerpoint for church, wrote more ads. Drove to church, grabbed dinner, left the powerpoints at church. Cleaned the church. Came home. Cleaned the garage. Called my father. Yikes.
I’ve also been swimming this week- every day so far. Yay me!
Tomorrow night my [...]

driving to ruth’s cabin

My stepgrandma Ruth has an incredible cabin in the woods.  Just the drive up to the cabin is amazing.  The view in the mountains is something that I really can’t describe.
I took oodles of photos with my cell phone camera in the car on the way up there.  Since I used my cell phone camera [...]

Almost home, why I love at&t

We are driving home tonight and are only an hour or hour and a half from home. I’m exhausted, as usual- it makes very little sense, but I love the missouri-to-colorado drive and hate he colorado-to-mo drive.
After we get home, I will unpack, shower, and fall into bed. I have a load of ads, assignments, [...]

Today’s plans

We will be leaving soon to visit my step-grandmother’s cabin in Deckers, CO (in the mountains). She says there is no cell phone service up there, but I suspect there will be pockets of coverage and I’ll still be able to upload a few photos.
Otherwise today’s plans should be fairly quiet. The cabin in Deckers [...]

Movin’ out!

We are officially leaving for Colorado now! We are in the car, and I’m writing this on my blackberry before we leave town (and cell phone coverage).
Driving to CO is a long day, but it is still kind of amazing. We can drive, in one day (about 12 hours, give or take), the same distance [...]
