Today has been such a good day. Busy, but good.

I started out my morning with a mad-dash search for a good pair of jeans. I suppose it’s rather crazy to say that a day that included clothes shopping was good, because it can be rather traumatizing! It is soooo frustratingly difficult to find jeans that fit well- makes me wonder why I do it to begin with. Oh yea… gotta wear something on my bottom half.

Anyway, I found a pair of capris that fits GREAT and was also on sale- woohoo! Not so much luck with the jeans, yet, but I still have some more places to look.

I didn’t have time to go to the gym today (unfortunately). After my jeans-shopping adventures, I drove to the home of friends who goes to my church to tutor their son- he missed a couple of weeks of school due to mono, so I helped him get caught up. I really enjoyed that- he is a smart kid, very nice, and it’s a lot of fun to think back to the stuff I learned many years ago.

After that it was home to relax and enjoy the evening. Kinda busy but overall definitely a good day.

It’s amazing how much I think about career advancement nowadays. My skills in so many areas have grown so much over the past few years, and it’s neat to think of different career paths I could choose. A lot of it has to do with networking- networking until I can’t network anymore! That’s just a part of freelancing- but oddly enough, it’s a part I definitely enjoy.

Sometimes I get career advice from friends, and I always appreciate that. But I ‘m really not interested in a career change at this point. I’m not sure what the future holds for me- I mean, I still sometimes think about “what might have been” or “what I could be”, because there are a lot of possibilities. But I love where I am in life. No complaints at all!

Yesterday I read that scientists discovered a “secret” to hangover-free drinking. Basically they tested drinks that were infused with large amounts of oxygen, and the result was that the body processed the alcohol faster, which resulted in fewer hangover symptoms. Of course it also resulted in people not getting as drunk for as long. But I thought… this discovery CAN’T be good. I mean, alcoholism is already such a huge problem, and alcoholics don’t need any more “incentive” to drink.

I don’t know. Addition in general, and alcoholism in particular, worries me. I’m thankful that more and more good rehab facilities are popping up (like the Orchid Recovery Center for Women), but all the great rehab facilities in the world won’t stop alcoholism. Places like Orchid Recovery Center provide help and treat the disease after it has manifested, but they don’t prevent the disease. And charities like the Orchid Recovery Charities help educate and spread information, but I just wonder- is it possible for humanity to ever escape?

*::edit:: I wrote this last night in bed, but for some reason
it didn't post. So here it is.*
*::edit:: sorry about the font problem. Still trying to
figure that one out.*

My computer hates me tonight. Just as I was about to post,
the network froze up. Since it is already late, I decided I
will deal with it in the morning. Thank goodness for Rimsy-
I can still post using my blackberry, from my bed, while
watching TV. Now if only I could also check all my clients'
websites with my blackberry (and if 3G was consistently
faster!).

I didn't make it to the gym today. Yea, shame on me, blah
blah. It was a very busy day, and tomorrow is a new day.

What is up with these Sonic commercials claiming that
their carhops are on roller skates again? That is so
inefficient, not to mention a huge insurance risk.

I found out today that a dear friend who has been jobless
for six months has a job interview next Thursday- yay! I
am so excited for her and am passionately praying that this
job comes through for her!

Cute M&Ms commercial. I love the M&Ms characters.

I really have so little to say. Do you ever have those
moments when your brain is just empty? That's kinda how I
feel. Life is good and I have no complaints- but it has also
been pleasantly quiet and not much has happened!

Yesterday I read a story about Suze Orman and and Robert Keyosaki, two “financial gurus” who threw a little hissy fit via twitter. It seriously sounds like something you’d hear on a playground- one called the other a poor financial planner, the other struck back, and next thing you know the two were in an all-out digital fistfight.

Now look. Both of these people have something to offer in terms of financial guidance, credit counseling, debt consolidation, that kind of thing. But seriously- in terms of maturity, they both get an F. Calling names, questioning each others’ knowledge and wisdom- it’s just stupid, and really it puts BOTH of their debt consolidation philosophies in question.

Today’s dinner has proven crazy. Our family’s plans have just changed and changed- well, more specifically, MY plans have changed and changed. I was going to be gone, then I was here, then I was going to be gone again, and in the end I was here.

In the end I finally threw together a simple dinner of spaghetti. It’s easy and it’s quick. We don’t have super nice ruffoni cookware but spaghetti doesn’t require much, and our non-ruffoni and non-copper cookware works just fine.

Tomorrow’s dinner bodes to be just as crazy. Luckily tomorrow is Friday, which is followed by the weekend (yay!), and I will finally have a chance to relax. Maybe.

Today I was driving through an *unnamed* neighborhood, looking for a particular house, with only poorly written directions as my aid. This neighborhood was so new that not even Google maps was up-to-date on the streets- and thus my blackberry was of no help. Though occasionally I would see a decent address sign, there were no regular, clear address signs or street signs. It was such a mess- I got horribly turned around.

I never did find the *unnamed* house that I was looking for. It seems to me that it should be a priority for builders or new residents to install some kind of address plaques, one address plaque per home, to make it easy to find houses, especially before technology has caught up to the new streets and new homes. You’d think… but then again, you’d wrong.

I’ve found myself on the Shockwave site an awful lot lately, and not just for the free games. Well, sorta for the free games. But I’ve grown tired of the online games. I’ve found myself download games and using a lot of the “free 60 minutes of play”. I am seriously toying with the idea of paying $60 for one year of unlimited play on those download games. I don’t like spending money on them but, it sure is fun to play those games.

Ah well. Such is my life… Today has been a quiet day, but very good. Restful. Not a whole lot in my life lately, which is quite good after last week’s trip to the ER and other general insanities.

I think I’m gonna go shop on Ebay for awhile. Why not…
