I think I’ve become an expert at diagnosing ADHD in Sadie. See, when there is a deficit of attention being paid to her, she gets hyper. Makes perfect sense to her! But she can certainly focus when she is playing a game or otherwise being generally cute.
It won’t be long before her “people” return for her. Makes me sad- I really love having a dog around!
*We’ve been having so much fun, but we don’t have much time left! Maybe Sadie and I need to run away!*
Dear Mommy and Daddy,
Today, we got more snow!
I was really happy because I LOVE playing in the snow!
Melinda and I were playing with Mr. Bojangles. I don’t know HOW she expects me to get him from there!
I hate being left out of ANYTHING!
I would be really good at playing Hide and Seek in this house! I’m the same color as the rug!
I miss you! See you soon!
Love,
Sadie

*Today Sadie wrote a song for her owners to sing when they get home!*
to the tune of “Hello, Dolly!”
Hello, Sadie,
Well, hello, Sadie
It’s so nice to have you back where you belong
You’re lookin’ swell, Sadie
I can tell, Sadie
You’re still glowin’, you’re still crowin’
You’re still goin’ strong
*Today, when I sat down to work on my website, Sadie sat on my computer. Literally. It’s very hard to do ANYTHING on your computer when a dog is sitting on the keyboard! So I decided she must be wanting to write another letter!*
Dear Mommy and Daddy,
Today, I got to wear my fur coat.
But then, the blonde one began calling me “Pebbles Flintstone”.
I got to play with my new friend again.
The blonde one wanted to dance with me.
But I think I should call her “Two Left Feet”.
At least she gave me a body pillow.
She says I have to wrap my body around it when I sleep, but I’d rather chew on it.
I miss you lots.
Love,
Sadie

I am totally ready to take Sadie and run away to an myrtle beach resort. We could run along the beach by the oceanfront myrtle beach resorts, or just relax. I wonder if any of the myrtle beach resorts have doggie spas? I’m sure Sadie would enjoy that, although she may be just as happy to have her belly rubbed! Oh well- I guess an oceanfront myrtle beach resort will just be the dream.
Otherwise, another quiet day- a little bit of shopping, lunch with my mother and sister, and an afternoon of relaxing at home. Holidays are great- I only wish it could always be this laid-back!
I do enjoy having a dog in our home.
I know Sadie will only be here temporarily, that she will be returning home soon. But she is such a sweet puppy- well, not a puppy, since she’s a couple of years old, but she is playful and energetic, and absolutely adorable. It’s just so fun to have her here.
Plus, it can be a challenge for me when my sister comes home- I mean, I know she’s older, but it’s emotionally tough to see how successful she is, and how hard I still am working. It’s nice to have a dog to talk to, someone who understands and still loves me.
It does make me dream, though…

*Again, written on behalf of our houseguest…*
Dear Mommy and Daddy,
I can’t wait until you come home!
On Christmas day, these people made me wear a dress and a silly hat.
They even made me carry a purse!
The bathrooms here are COLD!!!
Sometimes I get to play with a sock.
The blonde one says she doesn’t like me…
but I think I’m growing on her.
*Sadie the schnoodle and I wrote a song together, to the tune of Beyonce’s “Single Ladies”*
I’m a silly puppy, I’m a silly puppy
I’m a silly puppy, I’m a silly puppy
I’m a silly puppy, I’m a silly puppy
I’m a silly puppy
Now put your paws up
Put your paws up
Cuz if you liked it then you should have put a tag on it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a tag on it
Don’t be mad once you see that he want it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a tag on it
wo oh ooh oh oh ooh oh oh ooh oh oh oh x2
Cuz if you liked it then you should have put a tag on it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a tag on it
Don’t be mad once you see that he want it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a tag on it
(Yes, I know it’s kinda dumb. What can I say? The dog is really quite irresistable.)
Where does the time go?
This has been a good Christmas. Very quiet, though that’s not a bad thing. We are taking care of a friend’s little schnoodle (Sadie), which has been a LOT of fun. She is just as sweet and playful as they come.
We are very snowed in. The snow began late on the 24th and ended sometime on the 26th. I would estimate we have a good 10 inches or so in our yard! The roads are a mess, so we didn’t even think about going anywhere until this morning, when we ventured out to go to church. Even today, the majority of the churches in our area were closed, and the roads were pretty dicey.
My sister flew in on Christmas eve, which was nervewracking. Her flights proved to be just fine (a few delays but that’s it). However, while she was flying, there were local newscasters talking about how awful the weather was and how the flights would be unable to come in and so forth.
Otherwise… that’s about it. Tomorrow my mother, sister, and I will be going out to shop and to return/exchange Christmas gifts. Hope you are all staying warm and safe!
We had a funny discussion about credit cards and ATM cards this morning before church. We were comparing the images on our cards- the “free” card images were all soooo strange! The best credit card images were on the cards that had a lot of fees associated with them!
And we really went off when we began to compare credit card offers. Who had the most and the best and so forth.
I think maybe we should all just go open Swiss bank accounts. I hear those have fantastic interest rates. Or maybe I should just wait until one of these emails from Nigeria works out- you know, the ones from terminally ill people in Nigeria offering to give me a bazillion gazillion dollars…
