Lotsa work on this template… and, actually, I’m fairly pleased so far, but it’s still not where I want it to be.  It’s those last little tweaks that are irritating!

I was working on the header region earlier, and actually all that work produced a funny looking break between that and the body.  But on the other hand it is getting towards what I want it to look like… so that’s worth something!

Otherwise my day has been quite boring.  Lunch at Chick Fil A… stops at Walmart, Shoe Carnival, Joann’s, and the library… filling the car up with gasoline, and barely making it to the gas station before we ran out of gas… Mom’s chili for dinner… and an evening of working on this website.  A pretty average Saturday, overall.

Hope you are all having a great weekend.

-I am on a break and, wonder of wonders, I don’t have anything to do.
-I need to buy bandaids for my “super sub pack”- you know, all the stuff I bring in case there are no lesson plans.
-Also I need to buy pencils. I’m tired of kids coming to class without pencils.
-I need to get new “dress” shoes. I have to pairs of Dr. Sholl’s brand shoes that are getting old but have served wonderfully. But I think this pair is starting to pinch.
-After school, I think I will stop by Cargo Largo and see if they have cheap bandaids and pencils.
-This evening, my parents and I will go visit our friend, Laura, and her husband, Jon, in the hospital. Early yesterday morning, Laura gave birth to a beautiful 6lb 2oz baby girl.
-This weekend, I need to set up blogging by email so that it will be easier to post to this blog with my phone.
-I would also like to be able to post photos to m blog, with my phone, but I don’t know how.
-I think I am out of things to say.

I’ve been making some “tweaks” to this site, which has actually been a lot of fun.  Bonus points if you can figure out what has changed!

I am not done, not even close, BUT it is 11:00 pm, and I have to leave for work in eight hours.  So all the rest of my changes can wait a few hours!

One other thought… I have this other domain that, for some reason, has risen in google pagerank.  So I am thinking about trying (again) to maintain two domains.  It seems so logical.  But at the same time, it will be a huge challenge for me because I don’t feel like I have that much to say.

Anyway… I’ll be back tomorrow afternoon with stories of middle school mayhem.  Starting tomorrow, I’ll be teaching a middle school communication arts class.  This weekend, then, I will finish tweaking this site and (hopefully?) get this second domain up and running.

No subbing jobs today.  Instead I’m hanging out on the internet and trying to improve this site even more.  Jess (of jessymessy.com) pointed out that there is not a “blatantly obvious” comment link, so I’m working on that.  I’m also trying to fix up some issues with the twitter tools plugin.

Ironically, right now I am watching Dr. Phil as he interviews families with mooching kids who move back in with their parents.  However, I do not think I am even close to as bad as some of these families, even though I live with my parents… I try to contribute to the house by cooking dinner most nights, running errands, etc.  Also, it’s not like I never pay for anything… I don’t have to pay rent, but if I have to run an errand, I will pay for whatever I’m buying out of my own money.

But even more ironically… this has been a rough week for my mom, so I was thinking, it would be so nice if I got up and cleaned some stuff, ran the vacuum, stuff like that.  However, instead, I am sitting here and blogging.

I am also thinking about downgrading wordpress, back to 2.6 or even 2.5.  I am fed up with some 2.7 issues… I mean, there are a lot of nice features in 2.7, but at the same time, it is very difficult for me to blog from my phone.  If I find out that the twitter tools plugin issues are related to 2.7, I’m going back.

Since I only have an hour before my dad gets home… I guess I will go clean some stuff.  But I will be around…

I don’t have a lot of time but enough for a quick update…

Life’s just been crazy lately.  It seems that I am getting so much more done with my blackberry… but it also seems like there is so much more to do!

On Monday I taught middle school social studies, which proved to be super easy.  I also had a “training” session after school which proved to be a lot of fun.  There are six more of these training sessions and then I will be paid for attending (my impetus for attending in the first place!).

Yesterday I taught a high school parenting class.  That, too, was super easy… it was high school juniors and seniors, which are almost always a great group to teach.  After twelve years of school, they have *usually* learned to follow the rules!

Today- just this afternoon- I am going to teach middle school science.  It should also be fairly easy.

Tonight, also, I am getting together with a friend.  We will watch a movie and eat a pizza.  Also, we are just nerdy enough that I think we will watch a documentary!

I had a strangely vivid dream last week.  In fact, it was one of those dreams that seemed too vivid to be a dream, yet at the same time it lacked some quality of reality.

I was subbing at my favorite school, a middle school, in a classroom where I worked a few weeks ago.  The vice principal came into the classroom and started lecturing me on my discipline techniques.  It was incredibly strange, least of all because that is TOTALLY out of character for this vice principal!

Recently I was asked to review a new invention called the “Brush Guard”.  This product is such a great idea!

Trust me- I’m not just saying that because I am reviewing it.  I know all the ladies reading this can relate to the challenges that we have with maintaining clean makeup brushes.  It is essential to wash your makeup brushes periodically, but it’s incredibly difficult to dry them.  If you stand them on either end to dry, then the gravity will make them dry funny.  If you lay them on the side to dry, you can wind up with a flat side.  Unless it’s standing up with the brush end down, the water will wick into the glue that holds the brush together and ruin the brush.  It’s an ongoing losing battle.  You can see from the pictures of my old brushes that, after many years of washing, they are not doing so well!

Well, good news: The Brush Guard is here to solve that problem!  The brush guard is a stretchable, breathable tube that protects your makeup brushes while drying, in storage, and when packing.  It has solved my makeup brush troubles and I expect my new brushes to last a very long time with this tool in my makeup kit!

BUY IT!  Buy your own Brush Guards at TheBrushGuard.com!

One week ago, it was so bitterly cold and dry that we expected school to be cancelled.  The thermometer hovered around zero degrees farenheit, with the wind chill at ten to thirty degrees below zero.  The sky was overcast.  Everyone stayed inside as much as possible.

Two days ago, the sun came out and shone bright.  The temperature rose to about sixty degrees farenheit.  A warm, gentle breeze blew.  I could comfortably leave the house without even needing a jacket.

Yesterday, the temperature dropped down to thirty degrees farenheit.  A cold wind bit through my clothes.  My family decided to go to Wendy’s for dinner.  When we entered the restaurant (at about 7pm), it was cold but completely dry outside.  When we walked out (less than an hour later), we saw this:

Snow!  This weather is very confusing!
