“time” for christmas

This week, my mom found a cartoon in the paper that is, in many ways, perfect for our family.  There was an old guy talking about Christmas gifts who said something like (melinda paraphrase) “if I can’t eat it, drink it, smoke it, wear it, watch it, or burn it, then I don’t want it!”  That’s generally how my family feels.  My grandfather feels especially strongly about this.  After many years, we have houses full of stuff and we have everything we need.  There’s not much left for us.  So for us, our favorite gifts are often the ones that we can eat, drink, watch, or wear.

So, speaking of “watch”-ing and wearing, you can always consider giving timepieces to your family.  If they’re anything like me, they never leave home without a watch.  I’m also quite picky about my watch- I want a digital watch that is waterproof, displays the date as well as the time, and preferably with a comfortable band.  Oh, and it can’t cost much either!

Luckily if you are looking for gifts for picky people like me, you can find a great holiday gift guide online.  Hopefully, though, you will all be successful in finding thoughtful and useful gifts for your loved ones!
