Archive for December, 2008

I was totally planning to blog during the day today but the battery on my Bold is too drained for it.  I am planning to really charge/drain the battery for these first few cycles so I don’t want to push it.

Rest assured, though, that I will be blogging later!

Odd… Now my blackberry is working again.
Very strange!!!

We did, indeed, go to the Liberty Memorial and the National World War One Museum today.

It was absolutely fascinating.

I took a bunch of photos with my phone, but for reasons I’ll describe below, I can’t upload them right now.  So hopefully tomorrow I will be able to write more about it.

Today, about halfway through the day, the browser on my Blackberry froze up.  Since I have an account thing to take care of anyway, I’m gonna stop by the AT&T store tomorrow to see if I can take care of it.  Otherwise, though, the Blackberry is working great, and I’m loving it!

Tomorrow, my family and I will be going to Fort Osage and the Fort Osage Museum.  Hopefully I’ll have lots of photos from that too!

I received my first text message today:

Going out for new years tomorrow?

The odd part…

I don’t recognize the number.

I think he (or she?) must have misdialed!

Wow. I am lying in bed and writing a post. How cool is that??

Not a lot to say tonight. Tomorrow, my family and I are going to the Liberty Memorial’s National World War One Museum. Unless, of course, the weather is nice. In that case, we’ll go to the museum at Fort Osage.

I need to find a password manager for this Blackberry. I have an add-on for Firefox on my PC but haven’t yet found anything that works on a smartphone. I might invest in Roboform- it’s a bit pricy ($30) but recommended by CNET, PC Magazine, and PC World.

Later!

This afternoon, my family and I went to the AT&T store to pick out and buy my new smartphone.

I’m floating on cloud 9, guys.  I am the proud owner of a brand new Blackberry Bold!

blackberry bold!

I do know that I have a stiff learning curve ahead of me.  It’s kind of strange to go from typing 80wpm on my laptop to maybe 3wpm on my smartphone!  Though, I know that in time I will improve.  Plus of course, I am just generally learning how to use the phone.

I bought an inexpensive skin on Ebay, along with a screen protector.  I’m not real happy with how the screen protector looks, just because I wasn’t careful and got some bits of dust and stuff underneath it.  Luckily though, screen protectors are cheap and I can order a couple more online.

Off to play with my new (expensive!) toy!

Tonight, I got an email telling me that someone had written on my facebook wall.  This particular someone is a girl who went to high school with me.  We knew each other but were never particularly close (of course, we graduated in a class of 450 students, so no one was particularly close to many others).  But, I have certainly learned that people change, and who knows why she’s writing on my wall.  So I log onto FB to check the wall.

Her message said something like, “Did you see that they are using your profile pic on ****-com-check it out”.  That was certainly an odd message.  I clicked over to her wall, and discovered that she had left similar messages on several other people’s walls.

I did a couple of google searches, and discovered that this particular site was a pornographic site, and probably one of those where they charge your account bazillions of dollars.

Why do people feel the need to try to take advantage of other people they know?  Even people they don’t know very well – it doesn’t make sense to me.  And it’s definitely annoying.

Some odd links that I need to post…

http://www.youtube.com/user/msmusil
A link to my Youtube channel.  Feel free to ignore this… I’ve posted some advertisement videos before that are really quite embarrassing.  It proves that I WILL sell my dignity, for the right price!

http://www.youtube.com/comment_servlet?all_comments&v=KColrGj9dfo&fromurl=/watch%3Fv%3DKColrGj9dfo
Link to a commercial on youtube with my comment.  It’s about a sale on buy.com for a blender.  I am not a fan of blenders.  I had a bad experience with a blender in high school… my parents’ blender exploded on me while I was trying to make a smoothie after school one day.  We don’t need no stinkin’ blenders!

This afternoon, I am watching You Don’t Mess With the Zohan with my family.  I’d heard good reviews, but frankly I’m a little disappointed.  It’s got a lot of sexual innuendos.  I don’t mind sexual innuendos, although I don’t think they are particularly funny, but I don’t like watching that kind of thing with my family.  It really bothers my parents.  Oh well.

Is it possible to get bored with the internet?  Seems like I can’t find anything to do nowadays.  I guess I should work on catching up with my bloglines- I don’t know why I have been so not into reading my blogs lately.

I need a new powder brush. (apologies to all my male readers, this is a very girly post.)

Whoever knew that makeup brushes could be such a nuisance?  I mean, they are definitely useful… makeup just looks nicer when you use a brush.  But I wish they were not so hard to store and wash.  I’ve researched and researched, and it seems like no one knows if it’s better to store them standing up or lying down.  Of course, hanging upside down is probably best, but really, that’s not very practical!

That’s all.  We can now return to normal blogging…
