pictures for your site

One of my biggest challenges as a wannabe blogger and web designer is finding images to use for my designs.  I have an excellent camera but it’s not a digital SLR, and though it does produce good images, they are not the quality that I would get with an even better (i.e. more expensive) camera.

Plus of course, sometimes I want a picture to complement a particular post.  Unfortunately since I don’t have an ultra small camera or a cell phone with a camera, I usually do not have a good photo of a particular event or moment.

That’s why I’m glad there are photo sites like Acobox.com.  Acobox is a site that provides blog pictures for bloggers.  Registration is quick and easy, and the photos are a great complement to any blog.

For example, every blog would be improved by this adorable picture of a kitten!  I couldn’t resist adding this to my post.  This kitten reminds me of two white baby Pound Purries that I had as a kid.  I loved those Pound Purries.  I think I still have them around somewhere… I should take a photo of them someday.  Plus of course I’ll have to tell you all about them and about all my Pound Purries memories!

I usually use http://www.sxc.hu/ for my stock photos if I have not taken anything or drawn anything. I actually had the guts recently to turn a photo of myself into a vexel… it was not bad. I thought it would turn out quite horrendous…lol

Is the camera you have digital? I have the same problem you are trying to have pictures for my posts. I don’t have professional cameras, but I have at least 3 I can use, I’m just lazy and don’t use them very often.

Anyway, I found tricks to making pictures look pretty good as long as I don’t use the flash.
