congrats red sox – cancer survivor throws a no hitter

I was conflicted in writing this post.

You see, my older sister currently lives in Boston, and I currently live in Kansas City. Tonight, the Boston Red Sox played against the Kansas City Royals. That’s her team against my team.

But, remembering how important sports are to me (they’re not) I pressed on. Tonight, Boston Red Sox pitcher and cancer survivor Jon Lester pitched a no-hitter against the Royals, his first no-hitter since his recovery from lymphoma.

Kudos to Lester and the Sox. Even though you beat “my” team, you played well and pitched even better.
