today in history, 4-30

On April 30, 1789, George Washington took the oath of office and became the first US president under the new Constitution.  He was elected unanimously by the electoral college, and to this day remains the only president who has ever received 100% of the electoral votes.  John Adams was elected vice president; at that time, [...]

subscribers!

A couple of days ago, I added Feedburner to my site.
I just logged into my Feedburner account and discovered that I have TWO subscribers!  Yippee!  I am ridiculously excited about my two RSS subscribers!
So here’s a post that is dedicated to my two RSS subscribers, to show my appreciation to them.  Thank you for reading [...]

dental adventures

One of the bloggers I follow (thearmywife.com) wrote a post yesterday about a visit to the dentist to get three cavities filled.  So, it seems appropriate that I write about my own dental adventures.
Quite frankly, I was born with with a lousy set of teeth.  I have deep crevices in my teeth, so I am [...]

comments fixed

Thankfully!  I finally found the solution!  I spent most of this afternoon browsing the wordpress support forums.
In case you’re interested:
I had to change the email address under “users-administrator-edit” so that it matched the email under “settings-general”.

successful update to 2.5.1

Yay, I have successfully updated to Wordpress 2.5.1.
Not sure yet if I like this version as much as my previous version (2.3.2).  But hopefully it will fix the comment issue.  Im off now to see if that works…
Also I need to figure out how the punctuation works in this version.  Every time I hit the [...]

comment thing coming…

This is kind of an FYI for my readers…
For whatever reason, my comments are not working properly.  I suspect it is because of one of my plugins.  So for the next couple of hours, I am going to be deactivating and activating plugins, making comments, and so forth…
Thanks for your patience.

comments, twitter, feedburner

So I’m trying to figure out these comments. I sorta get it but not completely, so I’m reading through the Wordpress Codex. I may also go searching for a plugin.
Yesterday I signed up for twitter and feedburner. I added a twitter widget to my sidebar. So sign up and follow me!

an inconvenient truth? here’s what’s REALLY inconvenient

Two days ago, the Domestic Diva posted a question on her blog: Why should she buy and use a reusable shopping bag if she will get nothing in return – specifically, a discount on her order? This question has created some very divisive comments. On the environmental side, some people say she [...]

theme problem part three

I think I got my theme fixed… well, not really “fixed”, but I think I was able to create a good workaround to solve the problem.

magic jack and late night infomercials

So I’m awake at night again. The price of being an insomniac.
Late night infomercials can certainly be amusing. If I believe everything these say, and purchase their product, then in just one night I can find a mop that will mop my floors while I lay on a beach enjoying those drinks with [...]
